Nightly BRINGS THEIR TOUR TO TORONTO WITH Brooke Alexx AS A SPECIAL GUEST
BY BRENESSA ROACH | APRIL 25, 2025
On March 31, 2025, California-born artist maia, better known as mxmtoon (pronounced em-ex-em-toon), took the stage at The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto. This marked the 23rd stop on her 38-city world tour in support of her liminal space EP, released in November 2024. Local artist Katherine Li opened the night, setting the tone for a memorable evening. It was a fitting way to close out Women’s History Month, celebrating two exceptional female artists.
Brooke Alexx kicked the night off at 8PM opening with her song “Super Famous” from her album Big(ger) Mouth [Deluxe]. She brought the energy and sang some of her hit songs like “All My Exes’ Moms”, “Stepping Stone” and “Younger Guys”. In case you missed Brooke Alexx on Nightly’s tour, she is also doing her own headline tour soon.
Nightly took the stage at 8:45 PM, opening with “tv shows”—a fan favourite from their latest album, songs to drive to. The setlist leaned heavily on this new release, featuring standout tracks like “gas station cowboy hats,” “MESS,” and “where do we go from here.”
Fans were in for a treat when the band surprised everyone with a performance of “Black Coffee,” a track not originally on the setlist. Another highlight of the night was when Lindsay Ell joined them on stage for their collaboration “i shouldn’t call you.” And just when we thought it couldn’t get more fun, they performed a crowd-pleasing cover of Smash Mouth’s “All Star.”
Nightly brought incredible energy, connecting with the audience in such an authentic and captivating way. This show marked their first-ever headline performance in Toronto—and a sold-out one at that. Here’s hoping they come back again soon!
A special thank you to Nightly and their team for providing us with a media pass
