Trisha Cruzada & L8NR PERFORM AT BEYOND THE BEAT: LIVE

On June 21, 2025, Filipino-Canadian artists Trisha Cruzada and L8NR hit the stage for “BEYOND THE BEAT: LIVE” — our third showcase. It marked Trisha’s first performance since opening for Giveon four years ago, and L8NR’s debut with a full live band. While the crowd was smaller than our previous shows, those who’ve been to all three said this one had the most energy — and honestly, we couldn’t agree more.
The night kicked off at 8PM with Trisha Cruzada opening her set with a cover of “eternal sunshine,” followed by originals from her latest album at least we tried, including “silver lining,” “naturally,” “exception,” and “die to defend.”
Throughout her set, she switched between guitar, piano, and backing tracks — even slipping in beautiful renditions of “Feelin’ Good” and “Godspeed.”
Her set was absolutely beautiful. As L8NR described it, her voice is like honey— warm, rich and beautiful. We cannot wait to see her perform more in the future and are so excited she could be part of this night.

Following Trisha Cruzada’s incredible set was L8NR, joined by his band The L8Nights — RD on bass, Alex on piano, Tyler on drums, and Justin on lead guitar. This was L8NR’s first time performing with a band, and it was unreal. His energy on stage was unmatched — he even played guitar, which he only picked up a few months ago. His stage presence was incredible, even jumping into the crowd for his encore performance of “lovely night.”
He performed fan favourites like “wys?,” “Thank God We Tried,” “pretty boy,” and even treated the crowd to an unreleased track called “no service” — which we seriously cannot wait for. He also performed a beautiful version of Rex Orange County’s “best friend,” and honestly, his take on it needs to be released.

Beyond The Beat’s third showcase was another success, and and we’re so grateful to everyone who came out to kick off the first weekend of summer with us. Bringing the community together to support Toronto’s incredible local artists is always something special.
