On Friday, August 1, 2025, Montreal-based artist and producer Christophe Martineau released his new single “On My Own.” It’s an emotional and uplifting future bass track, aimed at fans of EDM and also noted by Christophe as his favourite project so far.

Honestly, EDM isn’t usually our thing, so this one took a few listens to really sit with us. At first, it was hard to connect with especially since the lyrics were a bit difficult to make out, and we didn’t quite feel the emotional pull the song seemed to be going for. That said, we liked the production because it is solid and well-produced, and we can see how fans of the genre might enjoy the energy and vibe more than we did.

While it didn’t fully resonate with us, we still appreciate the craft behind it and we’re curious to see where Christophe takes his sound next.
