Welcome back to our “Beyond The beat Spotlight” series! This month, we are featuring the incredible trio DARUMAS, made up of Aldana Aguirre, an Argentinian bassist now based in Miami, Ceci Leon, a Miami-born Cuban guitarist and vocalist, and Vedala Vilmond, a Haitian vocalist currently living in Chile. Together, they craft a unique sound blending Latin rhythms, funk, pop, and a hint of old-school vibes.

DARUMAS made their debut on April 19, 2024, with their single “Daruma”, released under Sony Music Entertainment US Latin. This single amassed over 1 million streams on Spotify, making it their most popular song to date. Since then, they released their debut album DARUMAS in May 2024, followed by the single “Francotirador” in September.

On November 22, 2025, they released “Wanna Be – By BERSHKA MUSIC”, which is the single that introduced us to them thanks to their PR agency who sent it to us. It’s insanely catchy, mixing retro funk, pop, and Latin rhythms—all sung in Spanish.

The trio even performed “Francotirador” at the Latin GRAMMYs and was nominated “Best New Artist”.

We’re spotlighting DARUMAS this month because we’ve been obsessed with their music and overall vibe. They bring something fresh to the scene, and even though they’re signed to a major label, they deserve way more listeners and love.

They currently have 52.8K monthly listeners on Spotify, and we can’t wait to see them grow even more this year. We’re also excited to hear what they drop next!
