Lyn Lapid BRINGS "BUZZKILL" TOUR TO TORONTO
BY BRENESSA ROACH | JUNE 8, 2025
On June 5, 2025, Filipino-American singer and songwriter Lyn Lapid brought her BUZZKILL tour to Toronto’s Mod Club. The show marked the 14th stop on her 27-city world tour in support of her BUZZKILL EP, which released on April 25. New York-based artist FIG opened the night, hyping the crowd up for Lyn’s set.
FIG, joined by her guitarist David, kicked off the nightwith a set full of fan favourites like “Feel Again,” “Mind Is Naked,” “Solo Dates,” and our personal favourite, “Pair Of You”. Not only is FIG a talented performer, but also a true entertainer—she even hosted a fun on-stage trivia game with prizes for the crowd. This was our second time seeing FIG live (the first was when she opened for Peach Tree Rascals last year), and she’s only gotten better. We absolutely love her music and stage presence.

Lyn Lapid took the stage around 9PM, joined by her incredible band—Tyler on drums, Kayla on bass, and Jacqueline on guitar. She played a crowd-pleasing set featuring fan favourites like “coraline,” our personal favourite “it doesn’t kill me anymore,” and of course, the tour’s title track, “buzzkill”.
She also performed “Room For You,” her collaboration with grentperez, which had the entire crowd singing along. Throughout the night, Lyn showcased her incredible musical talent—not just with her vocals, but also by switching between guitar, piano, and ukulele. Her stage presence was energetic, and you could truly feel how connected she was with her fans. It was an unforgettable performance from start to finish.
One of the most memorable moments of the night came right before her performance of “poster boy,” when she brought Ariel up from the crowd to prompose to her boyfriend, Allen. It was such a cute surprise, and the crowd erupted in cheers—it was a heartwarming moment that made the night even more special.
A special thank you to FIG and her team for providing us with a media pass.
