Happy last day of April! This year is flying by, but we’re grateful for all the incredible new music keeping us inspired. April was another month packed with amazing releases, and narrowing down our favourites wasn’t easy. Still, we’ve picked our top 12 songs from the month to share with you.
Listed from most played to least (though we love them all — some just dropped more recently!), let’s dive in…

“POV” along with “call my name” were released the day after JUNNY’s birthday on a double-single EP titled *96.* These two songs came as a surprise and they are a reflection on JUNNY’s life growing up and the EP title 96 refers to his birth year of 1996. We loved both of the singles, but found ourselves replaying “POV” so much.

“Don’t Put It All On Me” is such a beautiful song with a mix of country/folk and pop. Noah Cyrus is an artist we really like and this might be one of our favourite songs of hers. This song is just so ethereal and the Fleet Foxes feature on it tops it off.

“1999” is a track on MARK’s debut album The Firstfruit—which we absolutely love from start to finish. We had this whole album on repeat, but every time we clicked shuffle “1999” came on and it just became our most streamed song this month. This whole album is a reflection on his life being born in 1999 in Toronto, growing up in Vancouver and briefly New York and then moving to Seoul, South Korea. This album truly takes the listeners on that journey and it’s such a special album.

“Goin’ Out Like That” amongst other Restless Road songs have been on repeat this month. We recently discovered Restless Road and are seeing them tomorrow in Toronto because we just love their music so much. We are big country fans and Restless Road just keeps giving us new music. This song is so fun and catchy. We are so excited to follow their journey now as fans.

“twilight zone” is a song on Ariana Grande’s eternal sunshine deluxe: brighter days ahead album. We loved her eternal sunshine album from last year and to nobody’s surprise, this deluxe version is just as amazing. There were a few new songs that we loved, but “twilight zone” was our top song. Her vocals are stunning and the production of this song is so beautiful.

“..THUS IS WHY (I DON’T SPRING 4 LOVE)” is a song on Saya Gray’s latest album *SAYA.* We listened to Saya Gray in 2022, but this new album brings a new sound and era for her. We really enjoyed this song and it was constantly stuck in our head.

“Love Me To Heaven” is a song that reminds us of Jonas Brothers’ old songs that we grew up listening to. This song is so nostalgic and has the perfect summer, pop vibe. We truly loved this song and we hope Jonas Brothers’ make more songs like this one and their older songs.

“Photogenic” is by far our favourite song from nel so far. This song is so catchy and we were replaying it constantly. We love the Alternative R&B style to it and nel’s vocals and lyrics are amazing.

“Dress” is one of the two new songs on Niall Horan’s album Heartbreak Weather (5 Year Anniversary Edition). This song is so amazing and as a huge Niall fan, this is what we needed to keep our month going. This song is so fun and sweet. The folk/country production on this song made us so happy.

“The Giver” is by far one of our favourite songs by Chappell Roan. The country vibes of this song is literally so perfect and it’s definitely going to be a song we have on repeat for the rest of the year. As mentioned earlier, we are big country fans so this song was just beautiful and catchy.

“Midnight Walk” is a song from the Korean drama When Life Gives You Tangerines which IU stars in. We are huge fans of IU and love all her work. We are currently half way through the Korean drama and it’s our top drama of the year so far. This song is so beautiful and it fits the show vibes so perfectly. This song is so sweet and sad at the same time.

Ever since JAEHYUN posted a photo with Emotional Oranges last year or so, we have been on the edge of our seats waiting for this release. We love JAEHYUN so much and his music taste so it doesn’t surprise us that he’s collaborating with the amazing Emotional Oranges. This song from the cover art to the production and the lyrics, this song is so fun and catchy. Perfect way to kick off spring/summer.
