BY BRENESSA ROACH | DECEMBER 31, 2024

Happy New Years Eve! We cannot believe this is our final monthly mixtape blog for 2024. This month, we had many songs on repeat, but we managed to narrow it down to our top 10 favourites.
Let’s get started!

Release Date: December 6, 2024
ROSÉ’s album rosie was, without a doubt, our favourite release of December. Every single song was on repeat, but “number one girl” had us hitting replay the most. It’s such a beautiful track, and with this album, ROSÉ truly wears her heart on her sleeve, pouring out years’ worth of emotions.

“How Can I” is a stunning ballad that JUNNY released as part of the soundtrack for the Webtoon Secret Relationships. The song’s gentle piano melody paired with JUNNY’s sweet vocals make it even more captivating. The chorus truly is our favourite part.

“where do we go from here” is a song we first heard in October, but became obsessed with by early November. Nightly, one of our favourite artist discoveries this year, delivered a beautiful indie-pop song that feels like a summer night drive by the beach.

“DON’T LEAVE ME NOW” is an English rock tracl by South Korean singer Griffy. It’s a refreshing departure from his usual style, and we absolutely love it—especially since rock is one of our favourite genres. It also has elements of pop and modern elements, making the song perfectly crafted. We can only hope Griffy continues exploring this sound in the future!

“Isn’t That Enough” is a track from Shawn’s latest album *Shawn.* The song—and the album as a whole—marks a change from his signature pop style, embracing a folk-centred sound that we absolutely love. With its twangy acoustic guitar and what sounds like a banjo, the track, paired with Shawn’s vocals and lyrics, is simply stunning. Since its release, we’ve constantly hadthe lyrics “isn’t that enough” stuck in our heads.

“i don’t wanna be your hero” is an indie rock song we’d describe as a unique blend of finger-picked electric guitar with an R&B vibe, until the chorus kicks in with a heavy rock influence. The fusion of these two genres is beautiful, and ASH ISLAND fits this style perfectly. The chorus is the most catchiest part of the song, and we can’t get enough of it.

“CLOVER” is a track on Band Nah’s latest album CLOVER Part 2.0. We’re big fans of Band Nah for their retro indie rock vibe, and this song perfectly encapsulates that energy. The chorus, where they sing, “yeah we are clovers, and we are lovers,” is a standout moment that we absolutely love.

“HOME SWEET HOME” is a song by G-DRAGON, TAEYANG and DAESUNG—three members of the second-generation K-pop group BIGBANG. This song shocked many, as it was unexpected, but much needed. While we weren’t die-hard fans of BIGBANG, we’ve always enjoyed a few of their songs, and even we were excited to see them back together making music. The song is incredibly fun, with an upbeat, catchy production and lyrics that have us hooked.

“Call Me” is a track on WayV’s 6th mini album FREQUENCY. It features a smooth R&B piano-driven production, with lyrics entirely in English. The lyrics are heartfelt and romantic, making it a perfect example of a modern pop style. It’s quickly become one of our new favourites from WayV.
