MONTHLY MIXTAPE: MAY 2025
BY BRENESSA ROACH | MAY 31, 2025

Happy last day of May! It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2025. We were on vacation this month and couldn’t keep up with every single release, but we still found a few songs that we had on repeat. Today, we’re sharing our top 10 favourite tracks from May!

Release Date: April 25, 2025
“fool for you” easily takes the top spot as our most-played song this month. It’s the debut single from Brandon Min, an artist we discovered through mutual connections on Instagram. While we don’t know much about him yet, this track is incredibly catchy—and it has us genuinely excited to see what he releases next.

Tied with “fool for you” as our most-played track this month is “Act Natural.” It’s the perfect pop anthem—fun, nostalgic, and totally reminiscent of the songs we loved growing up. Alex Coles has officially earned a spot as our new favourite pop guy, and we’re hoping he keeps making music in this vibe.

“Favourite Band” is a track from Bradley’s debut album The Panic Years, which originally released on February 28. He later released a special version featuring Nieve Ella, who joined him on the UK leg of his tour. While the original is already incredibly catchy, Nieve’s verse adds a fresh new layer we can’t get enough of. We were lucky enough to catch them perform it live at Bradley’s London show on May 23, which made us love it even more.

“Don’t Say You Love Me” is the title track from Jin’s sophomore album, Echo. It’s a sweet, catchy pop song that’s been stuck in our heads since its release. The piano synth in the intro is especially beautiful—giving off major Coldplay vibes—and sets the perfect tone for the rest of the track.

“Elevator” is the title track of BAEKHYUN’s 5th mini album, *Essence of Reverie.* This album is a no-skip one, so picking a favourite song wasn’t easy—but “Elevator” has been on constant repeat since its release. We’re also loving all the content and performances that have come with it—they’ve made the song even more captivating.

“To Reach You” by 10CM is a beautiful track that we’ve truly come to adore. We’ve always been fans of 10CM’s music, and this song is yet another reminder of why. The lyricism and production are consistently heartfelt and sweet, and this alternative rock gem is no exception.

We had the chance to see Restless Road perform in Toronto on May 1, and it was such a fun and memorable show. Since then, we’ve spent the month listening to their entire set—and especially this song, which was released just before the concert. It’s a sweet, heartfelt track that feels like the perfect soundtrack to a western romance.

At first, we didn’t take this song seriously—we thought it was just a joke (which, to be fair, the original producer did post the beat as a joke on TikTok years ago). But after seeing so many dance performances by KATSEYE, it completely got stuck in our heads and quickly became one of our top songs this month. The lyrics might be funny, but the production is seriously fun, and the choreography? Absolutely gnarly—in the best way.

This month, we couldn’t get “Dive” out of our heads—thanks to Ellie Banke and her beautiful rendition of the song. After singing her version nonstop, we found ourselves diving back into the original and re-listening to Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (Deluxe) album. It reminded us just how much we loved it back in high school and brought back so many nostalgic memories. Seeing Ellie and Ed post a duet of the song together was the cherry on top—such a special moment.

“MAPLELATTE” is a song we’ve been eagerly waiting for ever since we first heard it in the Korean drama Dear.M, where it was originally created as part of the soundtrack. Although the drama aired back in 2022, the song has finally been released three years later—and we couldn’t be happier. Just like its title, the track is incredibly sweet and instantly brings us back to scenes from the drama, especially the ones featuring our bias, JAEHYUN from NCT 127.
