A NIGHT WITH THE ROSE IN TORONTO FOR ONCE UPON A WRLD TOUR
BY BRENESSA ROACH | JULY 14, 2025
On July 10, 2025, South Korean alt-pop indie band The Rose (더 로즈) performed at The Great Canadian Theatre in Toronto as part of their Once Upon a WRLD Tour. The tour follows the release of their latest album, WRLD, which dropped on May 30, 2025. This marks The Rose’s fifth overall tour, their fourth time performing in Toronto, and the 13th stop on their 29-city run.
In 2023, they took the stage at HISTORY for their Heal Together Tour, and in 2024, they performed at the Coca-Cola Coliseum for their Dawn to Dusk Tour, which we had the opportunity to cover as well.
The Rose is a four-member band consisting of Woosung (vocalist/guitarist), Dojoon (vocalist/multi-instrumentalist), Taegyeom (bassist), and Hajoon (drummer). They made their official debut on August 3, 2017, with the single “Sorry.”
ONE OK ROCK took the stage shortly after 9 PM, opening with “Puppets Can’t Control You – Japanese Version.” From there, they delivered a powerful set filled with fan favourites like “Wherever you are,” our personal favourite “Tropical Therapy,” “Stand Out Fit In,” and “Delusional:All.”
They also played some of their older tracks, including “Save Yourself – Japanese Version”, “Make It Out Alive,” and another one of our favourites “Renegades”. Between songs, Taka shared heartfelt reflections on the band’s 20-year journey, opened up about global issues, and spoke passionately about the messages behind their music.
Before this show, we were casual listeners. But after seeing them live, we haven’t stopped playing their music. We’ve learned their names, fallen into the fandom, and—like many others—are now deep in post-concert depression. The band closed out the night with the powerful anthem “We Are,” leaving the crowd energized and emotional.
Experiencing this concert at Budweiser Stage—Toronto’s iconic outdoor venue—on the hottest day of the year so far made it all the more special. It was the perfect kickoff to summer, and we already can’t wait for ONE OK ROCK to return.
A huge thank you to ONE OK ROCK, their team, and Live Nation for providing us with a media pass and ticket to this unforgettable night.
