On Sunday, August 10, 2025, Indian Pop Girl Group, W.i.S.H. (acronym for World Inka Stage Hai) released their highly anticipated debut album, Sweetburn, under Sony Music India.

W.i.S.H. is a four-member group consisting of sisters Ri and Sim, and Zo and Suchi. Their name, World Inka Stage Hai, translates to “the stage is our world.” They made their debut on February 29, 2024, with the single “Lazeez” (Delicious). Since then, W.i.S.H. has gained significant attention and built a rapidly growing fan community known as “WishStars.”

Following their debut, they released a few singles including “Galti” with MxRZI in April, “Therapy” in June, “Headrush” in July, “Boom Boom” in December, and “Bolo Bolo” in July 2025. All of these tracks are featured on Sweetburn, alongside three brand-new songs: “Ishaare,” “Drameboss,” and “Mera Aasmaan.”

With Sweetburn, W.i.S.H shatters expectations. In an industry that often confines female artists to narrow labels like “the good girl,” “the wild one,” or “the heartbreaker,” W.i.S.H boldly rejects these binaries, delivering a powerful, genre-defying statement that’s entirely their own.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the album, W.i.S.H. shared:

“Sweetburn is for every girl who’s ever been told to tone it down. It’s messy, magical, moody, flirty, fierce just like us. We’re not here to fit in, we’re here to take up space. We hope audiences and Wishstars relate to this and continue to love and support us. So stream it and scream it because it’s our Sweetburn era.” – W.i.S.H.

That messy, magical, and moody energy shines through every track. With a wide sonic palette mixing afro-pop, synth-pop, and electronic beats, paired with bold yet playful lyrics in both Hindi and English, the album showcases each member’s distinct voice and personality.

Produced by Mikey McCleary and Parth Parekh, Sweetburn delivers a sound that is both fresh and deeply rooted in contemporary Indian identity. The result is an unapologetic display of “main girl energy,” reflecting W.i.S.H.’s refusal to be boxed into a single genre or narrative.
